Sri Lanka, known as the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean,” is a small island nation with a rich history, diverse culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. Despite its small size, the country offers a wide range of experiences, from ancient temples to modern cities, from lush forests to golden beaches. π
1. Natural Beauty
Sri Lanka is famous for its scenic landscapes, which range from misty mountains to tropical beaches.
• Hill Country: Places like Nuwara Eliya and Ella are covered with tea plantations, waterfalls, and cool misty weather.
• Beaches: Unawatuna, Mirissa, and Arugam Bay are popular for their golden sands and clear waters.
• National Parks: Yala and Udawalawe are home to elephants, leopards, and many bird species.

2. History and Heritage
Sri Lanka has a civilization that dates back over 2,500 years. Ancient cities, religious sites, and colonial buildings show its diverse history.

Religions also play a significant role in Sri Lankan life. The four major religions practiced in Sri Lanka are:
